OS: Ubuntu 15.04
(my repository update: 17 January 2016)

1. Open Math Formula.
2. Click Symbol Button.
3. Choose Symbol Set (example: iGreek or Special)

I can only use the direction buttons to navigate between options. (mouse does not work)

Already fixed. As a workaround you can export SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk.
