I have noted this in Ubuntu. Similar or same: bug 90303 Setting to NEW nevertheless. This continues to be a problem in 5.2.3.2. When Writer opens with an unnecessarily wide window, grabbing the left or right edge of the window to resize it appears to cause a full window redraw for every mouse motion event. Narrowing the Writer window by about 300 pixels takes so long that the window manager grays out the Writer window to mark it as unresponsive. I have encountered no other application that handles window resizing this poorly. |
