What desktop environment are you using? I have Arch w/ KDE and it works fine. This should be disabled by default, but best to check: Tools - Options - LibO - View - Use OpenGL for all rendering Set to NEEDINFO. Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the information. Most likely a duplicate of Bug 96604. Please try with 5.1.1.
