I'm using a fresh install of Arch Linux with a fresh install of LibreOffice with default settings.

I do not have java installed at all.

The ability to click inside drop down menus and buttons is somewhat important for a program with a graphical user interface.

What desktop environment are you using?

I have Arch w/ KDE and it works fine.

This should be disabled by default, but best to check: Tools - Options - LibO - View - Use OpenGL for all rendering

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the information.

Most likely a duplicate of Bug 96604. Please try with 5.1.1.
