new locale data

add a new locale data for Kabyle localization
Comment 1 Eike Rathke 2016-03-29 23:58:25 UTC
We already have kab-DZ locale data, see https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/gitweb?p=core.git;a=blob;f=i18npool/source/localedata/data/kab_DZ.xml;hb=HEAD

It is somewhat different though, at least in some calendar item names like day and month names.

Hi Eike,
the names of months, days , quarters and other are not correct. Who created the file?
The second file I sne tcontains the right words in Kabyle language.
I hope to get in touch with the peron who wrote the file.
We have a kabyle community in facebook for LibreOffice.
https://www.facebook.com/libreoffice.aqbayli/?fref=ts

We have to change that file, it doesn't contain the right words in Kabyle langage.

Best Regards

See bug 30773 for the original submission and some discussion about Kabyle and the Berber/Amazigh collective language situation. Maybe what you're seeing as being not correct is right about the differences mentioned.

Please also see http://st.unicode.org/cldr-apps/v#/kab/Gregorian/

and http://www.unicode.org/cldr/charts/29/by_type/date_&_time.gregorian.html
looking for the string ·kab· (including the dots).

No worry about it. We are now going on with the translations.
After testing, I will be back to correct errors according to Kabyle Dictionarries.
This translation project will be submited to HCA( Haut Commissariat à l'Amazighité), an official algerian institution who is charged to standardize Kablye Langage.

Best Regards.

Any outcome? Can we close this? Or should the locale data be changed?
Comment 6 belkacem77 2017-04-26 14:04:34 UTC
Hello, We are now working on the kab CLDR/UNICODE. Submissions will begin next month.
If data will be reimported/updated from CLDR, please close this bug.
Comment 7 Eike Rathke 2017-05-15 15:47:50 UTC
We don't automatically update data from CLDR.
Comment 8 belkacem77 2017-05-23 21:29:13 UTC
Some of the data previously uploded is not correct. We are now working on the CLDR.

The project is lead by the University of Bejaia - algeria.
The team submited almost all the the kabyle CLDR so it will be better to reuse it after validation. We will update localization on Pootle

We launched a series of opensource kabyle localization and among them LibreOffice.

Thanks for support
