Steps:
open calc
press CTR+Shift+space

actual result: whole sheet is selected

expected result: one column is selected

This seems to have begun at the below commit.
Adding Cc: to Jay; Could you possibly take a look at this one? Thanks

Hi Raal,

This was discussed and a deliberate change.
See bug 96969
Ctrl+Space now selects the column.
