Created attachment 125374 [details] Document to test assertion Open the attached document and double-click chart for to set it in edit mode. Click the red rectangle. Open context menu. Click on item Area. You get an assertion. If you cancel the assertion, you get another one. Both are recorder in the attached text file. If you ignore the assertion, you can set a background color.

Rishabh Kumar committed a patch related to this issue. It has been pushed to "master": http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=fa8759400ef4adda2fe5570a9343960529786f39 tdf#100121 : Assertion failed in Area fill of a text box inside a chart It will be available in 5.3.0. The patch should be included in the daily builds available at http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/ in the next 24-48 hours.
