Version: 5.1.3.2 Build ID: 644e4637d1d8544fd9f56425bd6cec110e49301b CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Windows 6.2; UI Render: default; Locale: en-NZ (en_NZ) Thousands of lines of spreadsheet lost, columns changed after a save. It had taken me days of work, over weeks, to create a 4,000 line spreadsheet and associated pivot tables. I finally went to bed at 3am after saving it, finally finished it. I left Calc open and went to bed. This morning I awoke and reopened the spreadsheet to find only 130 lines left and that the columns had changed. Although undo was available, there was nothing in the undo that had had any indication as to what had happened. The file had saved over the last valid version, so everything was lost and tracking wasn't on. Backup copy also was not selected, but if it had it too would have been overwritten eventually. What remained in the spreadsheet was different to any state the spreadsheet had been in previously, so undo would not have restored it. It was exactly as if data had been randomly deleted and some columns altered by a hacker, but there was nothing in undo, so nothing a user could have done.
Hi Mark, There's really nothing we can do with the report. You haven't provided any details that helps us reproduce the issue and provided a lot of irrelevant info (sorry but in terms of a bug report, you telling us that you lost lots of work and it cost you a lot of time is all irrelevant). Closing as INVALID. The following link shows how to report a good bug report: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport#Good_Reports Without a set of reproducible steps there is literally nothing to be done.
