I tried it with many files and the result was always the same. The program crashes and leaves an open instance after every crash. I have uninstalled 5.1 and with 5.0.6 the files open normally.
This might be due to a problematic OpenCL driver. Please try after disabling OpenCL first: https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Open_CL In the next version, problematic drivers are taken into account. Set to NEEDINFO. Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists after disabling OpenCL. Change to RESOLVED NOTOURBUG, if the problem went away.
