See: https://help.libreoffice.org/5.0/Common/Index_-_Keyword_Search_in_the_Help
This page talk about a "Search term" text box
But you can't find it
Unable to use the wiki search engine efficiently.
Because searching returns results from all wiki content.

Please give an example of a search that gives results outside of the help.

Input "erreur ref"
1st result > english
2nd result > french but title in english
next result > same as 2nd but with old version

If I use inner help file, I see one result: "Codes d'erreur dans LibreOffice Calc"

I can confirm your bug with German locale as well ... :( And it gets even worse, if you try e.g. "####-Fehlermeldung" (the first entry in the Help index in German): this results in the Welcome page of the wikihelp, but also just entering "####" in the wiki search leads to the same behaviour ... :(
OS: Debian Testing AMD64

I do not reproduce. With the input "erreur ref" in the search field, I get the following results page: https://help.libreoffice.org/index.php?search=erreur+ref&title=Special%3ASearch&go=Lire
Each result links to a help page in French (that is with /fr at the end of the url). Some pages are in English because currently the translation in French of the help for master (idem 5.2 version) is not complete.

What is important here is that the search function gives results in help subdomain of libreoffice.org and not in the entire wiki of LibreOffice.

I don't use 5.2. I input F1 key from a 5.0.6 build.

I agree: get same results than inner help file.

Then, in the results page, you should choose results whose link starts with 5.0/

You can also add 5.0 in the search string to find only results for 5.0 version: https://help.libreoffice.org/index.php?search=5.0+erreur+ref&title=Special%3ASearch&go=Lire

As we moved to the "new help system", I cannot longer reproduce this problem.

Closing as WFM.
