Description Björn Martin 2016-07-24 16:01:10 UTC
After creating a new sheet with very few cells that just contain text I added the first formula into cell F2:

=E2*1,19

Just calculcate the gross value of a net value. This caused the UI to freeze and not recover (I waited for a few minutes the first time this happened).

Later I tried a simpler formula in cell E2:

=D2+C2

Same thing, the application freezes.

I can reproduce this every time.

Just did a fresh install of v5.1.4.2 on Windows 10. Java is installed as JDK 1.8.0_102, 64 bit, with NO public JRE.

Just did a re-test with RC version 5.2.0.3 and it's fixed there.

And another bit of information: I ran the application in German in both cases. Just in case German had a number formatting problem with . and , maybe.

Please try resetting the user profile, sometimes solves strange issues.

Usually it's enough renaming/deleting the file "user/registrymodifications.xcu", it affects all the options in Menu/Tools/Options, and the files "user/basic/dialog.xlc" and "scrip.xlc" are overwritten, additionally custom colors in "user/config/standard.soc" are lost.

Unchecking 'Tools -> Options... -> LibreOffice -> OpenCL -> Allow use of OpenCL' and 'Allow use of Software Interpreter (even when OpenCL is not available)' and restarting LibreOffice might also be worth a try.

Yep, as the problem is not present on the same computer with 5.2.0.3, it really seems like some transient glitch.
Björn: do you agree to close this as WORKSFORME?
Comment 5 Björn Martin 2016-08-02 04:50:22 UTC
Yep, I agree, it's fixed in version 5.2.0.3.

I hope other users won't have to wait too long for 5.2 to become the primary download suggestion on http://www.libreoffice.org/
