Created attachment 126622 [details] New Start Center Layout All, I would like to propose a change to the start center. The current document preview of recent documents is not ideal. Long file names are not fully shown in some cases and for users with hundreds of documents lack of order can become burdensome if it was actually being used for quick access. I have made a basic mockup. It would remove the previews. Add a navigation bar to quickly access documents of each type. It would list recent documents in a list with wrapping of long file name and configurable columns to display: Classification, Modification Date, Description etc.
Not without merit, but some of @kompilainenn's work on bug 96383 is better reasoned. MRU list remains defaulted to 25 but can be adjusted in Expert Configuration, and thumbnail views can be disabled if preferred. See comments there regards completing work for bug 75644 and bug 77590 is needed before providing option of a more concise StartCenter. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 96383 ***
