Description Tim Chambers 2016-09-10 07:39:01 UTC
Created attachment 127239 [details]
New table is unusable with no way to add records

Created a new form and I have no obvious way to add table. I would be expecting several methods: an empty row; a button enabled to "add row"; "Paste" and "Insert" OR "Import" to be available eg. in Edit menu. Is this because of an JRE error or is JRE missing/misconfigured ?
Will try to re-install.

Correction to 1st line:
"Created a new form and I have no obvious way to add table."
should be
"Created a new form and I have no obvious way to add data to the table."

@Tim : the image you have posted appears to show the Table View (by which one can enter data directly into the table) and not a form.

The table view is not a form.

A grid control can be included in a form, and bound to a data source (table, query, view).

It is unclear what exactly you are attempting to do.

In order to enter data in any table, you generally need a primary key defined in your table.

The same is true of any form bound to a table or query. If no primary key is present, then you will not be able to enter any data.

As you do not give any details on what you have done other than the screenshot, we can't process this bug report further until we get such information. A copy of the ODB file showing what you consider to be the buggy behaviour is almost always required, or else detailed instructions on how to set up the database with some sample data.

Setting to NEEDINFO, please set back to UNCONFIRMED once you have provided the requested information.

Seems the table has been created without any primary-key. So you couldn't find a row to input values, because tables without primarykey aren't editable in the internal HSQLDB-database.

Please add an attachment of the database - will have a look at it.
