It would be useful to add in Help for Sheet in Calc, in https://help.libreoffice.org/index.php?title=5.1/Calc/Sheet_3&Language=en-US, on the bottom of Page Order: Note: In order to have continuous page numbers on PDF export or print with different page styles, such as for different sheet orientation, one can create new Portrait and Landscape page styles with 'First page number' unmarked and use them for all pages except the first one that uses Default page style.
Yep -> NEW
The suggested text is not suitable for Calc page formatting. There is no "First page number" checkbox. However, one can adjust the header/footer to carry page numbering using page styles. It will much better to write a full help page tutorial on how to use Page styles for spreadsheets, describing use cases in numbering or page orientation. The page can be listed in the Contents tree, similar to https://help.libreoffice.org/6.1/en-US/text/scalc/guide/print_landscape.html @Timur Can you provide the contents of this page here (either as comment or a ODT attachment)? Title can be "Using Page Styles in Spreadsheets"...

The description is currently: "First page number Select this option if you want the first page to start with a number other than 1. Enter the number of the first page." This is misleading language. The logical equivalent of this is: "Unless you select this option and enter a different number then your page will start at the number 1." So I would suggest instead something like the following: "First page number" If you want this style to restart page numbering then select this option to enter the new starting number."
(In reply to Ross Johnson from comment #4) > So I would suggest instead something like the following: > > "First page number" > If you want this style to restart page numbering then select this option to > enter the new starting number." Or: "First page number" If you want this style to restart page numbering then select this option. Enter the number of the first page."

Or, more compliant with the Help style guide: "First page number Select this option if you want this style to restart page numbering. Enter the number you want to restart at."
Ross Johnson committed a patch related to this issue. It has been pushed to "master": https://git.libreoffice.org/help/commit/957430b19287e080ddf30b14643e9a653d9293ea tdf#102151 - reworded the description of page style First Page Number
The problem I had with adding the note as suggested was that, as worded, it explains how to solve a problem that the user has initially created themselves by selecting an option that by default is not selected. So, if the user has selected the option then they are probably trying to solve a different problem to the use-case the suggested note explains how to solve. This paragraph is now a demonstration of the dangers of over-explaining and also why I thought it preferable to not go in that direction. It is not clear if the description of the feature contributed to this issue in some way although it was inaccurately worded and has now been reworded as proposed in [comment 6].
