Did you author the presentation being shown in Impress in LibreOffice? Or, is it from some version of Microsoft PowerPoint? Suspect the later and that your system fontconfig instance is having issue with reading the fonts of the embedded OLE image of the formula--probably WMF.

Try recreating the slide using Impress and the Math formula editor (insert the OLE object, or save the formula as an ODF Fromula and link).  Better results with LibreOffice?
