I have tried all options to get this to work, I removed the application entirely and it always works when I reinstall, whether as a fresh install, or an overlay of the same version (replace option in OSX). Once I quit the application it crashes and will not restart until installed again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Remove application
2. Install application
3. Quit application and try to restart.

Or,

1. Overlay existing application with same version
2. start application (works)
3. quit application and try to restart. it crashes

or.

1. Remove application.
2. shutdown/restart laptop
3. repeat steps from the two examples above.
4. exactly the same result.
Actual Results:
Starts OK the first time, but after quitting LibreOffice. It will never restart until reinstalled!

Expected Results:
It crashes

It should have started.

System is MAC OSX 10.12 upgraded to Sierra. Application ran OK on previous version of O/S. Both the fresh and still versions exhibit the same behaviour.

It front end crashes, all components affected.

Hi Murray,

thanks for the report and sorry to hear of your trouble here!
Can you please check if using a clear user profile helps?

and what does Help > About LibreOffice say?
(you can copy&paste that in a comment here)

Did you check the screen dumps I added?

I have since totally removed everything for LibreOffice under my username so profile info and everything else has been removed.

I still received the same error. I did another complete removal and am installing the 5.2.2 version from scratch to see if that resolves the issue.

I am not hopeful

Yes - adding info directly readable here is handier.

Removing and reinstalling LibreOffice - what I understood from your description - does not remove the user profile. Hence my hint.

I've no mac, not that problem, so sorry, cannot help any further.

5.2.2 about screen dump

Another failure to launch.

A fresh install of 5.2.2 works the first time I launch the app. If I then quit the app and try to restart it, I get the crash screen that has been already posted.

I have completed removed all folders relating to LibreOffice, rebooted the system, and I can replicate the crash with both versions, 5.2.1 and 5.2.2

I think you have misunderstood.

I followed your instructions and went to application support folder under my username. From there I deleted the folder LibreOffice and emptied the wastebasket. Is there somewhere else that LibreOffice stores information. I will gladly try removing that too. Please note I also removed the application as well as removing the user profile folders.

Did you check the link I posted? I don't know the situation on Mac from the top of my head. But typically it's in a hidden folder.

You mean this?

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

Yes I went there, and enableed the view of the hidden folder, and I completely removed everything related to LibreOffice. So reinstalling, and starting LibreOffice was as though it had never been installed on my MAC before. I get the same error as before. On the second attempt to start the application it crashes.

If I immediately do another install, it works, but again crashes when I try to start it a second time.

I would assume that if I reinstall it after the first crash, it would still crash if my user profile was the issue. However after installing it does start. It will crash when I quit the application (not just closing my document. When I try to restart it a second time it will crash.
