Created attachment 127885 [details]
Example of the problem (print dialog + slide)

If you use vertical slides, while printing, the slide is rotated and only the top of the slide is printed, on the top left (see attachment). It seems to work correctly with Draw and Writer

The only way to deal with that is to do "Export to PDF" and then print the pdf.

To test: Properties sidebar panel - Slide - Orientation: Portrait.

I don't see the problem.

No repro for me either with

Version: 5.2.1.2

You need to set the slide format to A4 instead of the default 4:3 Screen, and also set the Page orientation to Protrait. This works for me.

(In reply to Alex Thurgood from comment #2)

Sigh, I'd better read more carefully, I tested with Export to PDF...
Comment 4 Alex Thurgood 2016-10-25 09:03:27 UTC
So :

1) Create new Impress file
2) Change page orientation to Portrait.
3) Fill page with text.
4) Save (to ODP)
5) Cmd-P to open print dialog.
6) Choose "Save as PDF" as the output option in the OSX dropdown dialog.
7) Enter file name for new PDF file. Press "Save" button
8) PDF file saved as replica of screen representation of ODP file.

Still no repro.

@Olivier : if you are doing something different, please tell us, otherwise we are just second guessing.
Comment 5 Alex Thurgood 2016-10-25 09:04:57 UTC
@Olivier : please provide us with detailed reproducible instructions and a test file with which we can attempt to reproduce your scenario.
Comment 6 Olivier 2016-10-25 11:12:47 UTC
It's not PDF but printing for real. Else it's exactly what was described by Alex.

We tried further and realized that the button "portrait" would produce landscape dimension in the text box near to it (in Format>Page), although it's indeed represented as portrait in the page.

Correcting the size in the text box allows correct printing. This setting is however forgotten if you re-open the file.

I hope it's clearer
Comment 7 Olivier 2016-10-25 11:13:32 UTC
I can reproduce on Arch Linux and Mac OS X
Comment 8 Buovjaga 2016-10-25 11:45:29 UTC
Olivier: still waiting for your test file.
Comment 9 Olivier 2016-10-25 11:47:06 UTC
I was creating a new file and following what was described.

I'll upload one later this afternoon
Comment 10 Olivier 2016-10-25 11:50:51 UTC
I just tried with Archlinux (LO 5.2.2) and it works correctly.

Maybe it's only 5.2.1 or only MacOS X.

I don't have a MacOS X available currently
