So if you have a large table that goes beyond the height of your screen and you move to the top left corner and select the table or alternatively Table > Select > Table, it will move the cursor to the last row of the table and this will change the viewing position on the screen, which isnt good UX.

Still repro with the described methods. With Ctrl+A, the cursor is put into the last cell, but the view doesn't move.
