Description a100572 2016-12-28 21:40:00 UTC
Calc crashes whenever I try to open a file. The file itself is not completely corrupted because it opens correctly from google docs. The file is made by multiple sheets (approx 12) and one of them got at least 100 columns. It has been slow but it worked fine since now. A backup copy of the same file works fine. The problem is that calc crashed again on a new file completely different. So I am not completely confident using libreoffice at the moment. Tomorrow I'll try to reinstall libreoffice, maybe an older version since I installed the 5.2.3.3 from scratch no later than two weeks ago.

Let me know if you need further details.

Rgds,
Alessandro

Thanks for the response.
Actually I am unable to send a sample document since I deleted the file (by the way I could not send the corrupted file because it contained confidential data that I could not delete as it would not open). I was able to read it from google drive but not to modify it. Finally, I managed to convert it to xls via Zamzar online service. Then I was able to open it correctly using Calc. At the moment the error did not happen again. If it can be useful I can send the coverted file erasing the confidential data but bear in mind that that copy works fine.

Rgds,
Alessandro

We would need the bad file, so I will close this.
