Description Adalbert Hanßen 2017-02-06 19:09:56 UTC
Description:
In version 5.3.0.3. buttons to indent and to outdent a paragraph should be arranged vice versa. The button to further indent is arranged to the left, the button to outdent to the right. That's not very natural.

Steps to Reproduce:
look at the arrangement of the indent paragraph and outdent paragraph buttons after a fresh install.

Actual Results:
They are arranged in a rather unintutional way. It is easy to fix using the GUI function to arrange them vice versa. The next version should install them the other way right from the onset

Expected Results:
Button with the arrow to the left (<) being left from the one with the arrow to the right (>)

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Heiko: I tried to apply what you advised here: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105765#c6
but "ux-advice" isn't accepted as CC value.

Anyway, we need ux-advice here.

The actions are to increase or decrease the indentation, used to align the left edge position of paragraph to tab stops as set on the ruler for the document canvas.

It only becomes an "outdent" when it is applied to a paragraph already at the document margin. Rather a corner case and not typically applied.

The Tango/Sifr/Breeze icon emote the correct action of the control. Existing arrangement is appropriate to task.

WONTFIX.

The valid address is libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org. I always enter ux-adv and wait for auto completion ;-)

Regarding the topic I tend to agree with Stuart.
