Description bureautiquelibre 2017-02-07 09:35:31 UTC
In calc, select any cell

Type a number with more than 15 figures ex: 123456789123456789

Although cell format is number/standard, display is: 1,23456789123457E+017

Attempts to switch back to number/-1234 display shows that the last figures are lost in the process and replaced by 0s: 123456789123457000

Consequence is data loss in files including large numbers, like serial numbers for example (workaround is to convert to text but data is lost anyway in the process).

Such number is beyond of the limits precision for numbers.
