Description kussh 2017-02-12 16:16:34 UTC
I have to change the case of each cell one by one. The contents of the marked cells' contents cannot be formatted in one go. This is a pain as each cell has to be navigated to, one by one, then marked and then formatted. I removed all formatting from the sheet also and used control-M shortcut to get the change case feature to work but it didn't happen as it should. I even closed Libreoffice and reopened the sheet but the change case formatting feature did not work across any of the marked cells. They had to be marked one by one and then formatted .

I have no problem changing the case with Format - Text on a selection with multiple cells. The cells can be anywhere and I select with Ctrl click.

Do you have the problem in a compeltely fresh file or just some specific file?
Please also try with a newer version.

Set to NEEDINFO.

Yes the problem goes away when individual cells are marked by using Ctrl and Click. Then they can be formatted as desired.

I had not used this method of individually marking each cell earlier. But had marked from 1st cell to last cell across various columns and rows using shift and CTRl-end keys. When thus selected, the formatting by changing the case does not work.

My problem is solved by marking each individual cell this way using CTRL and click. However it would be better to have this formatting work using SHIFT and Home and Shift and end keys.

I have a workaround now for the bug. A little extra effort but Thanks. I am using Ubuntu 16.04 and this version of libreoffice comes with it--so i don't want to upgrade libreoffice manually which is a very tiresome process.

I checked the workaround in a new ods file i created as well as the one where the problem occured and was reported. Both files needed to use the CTRL + click workaround

With SHIFT the selection it's up to first/last cell on the row.

But with SHIFT or SHIFT+CTRL+(home|end), cell conversion it's only done on the first cell of the selection.

There is some kind of issue.
