Description doriano.mag 2017-02-26 10:10:27 UTC
Description:
It seems that Impress doesn't use the shortcuts for bulleted lists (Shift+F12) and numbered lists (F12) in text boxes. The only way to trigger them is clicking on the currespondent botton in toolbar or sidebar.
The shortcuts work fine in Writer, and it would be nice to have the same behavior in Impress, especially for users that switch frequently between the two modules.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open a new blank presentation in Impress
2. select the text box
3. insert some text in paragraphs and try to use F12 or Shift+F12

Actual Results:
Nothing happens.

Expected Results:
When hitting F12, the paragraphs convert to a numbered list.

When hitting Shift+F12, the paragraphs convert to a bullet list.

Reproducible: Always

Hi Doriano,

Thanks for reporting. Few remarks:
From the second slide on, by default bullets are on;
Tools > Customize allows to make the key bindings you mention
  Category Format has Bullets/Numbering
Category Numbering has Bullets and also Numbering

But your report is right, So let me set this to an enhancement.

Ciao - Cor

The function toggles bullets on and off in Writer, so it should work in Impress independently from the master settings (and it does). But the function itself has no shortcut, which I would understand as a bug.

Assign shift+F12 to numbering > bullets, and F12 to numbering > numbering by default -> Easyhack.

Hi, I am trying to solve the bug but I cannot figure the exact problem. I have tried reading the code of framework/source/accelerators/ but still finding it a bit complex. Can anyone point me a specific code pointer here? Thank you in advance.

The toggle function is present FN_NUM_BULLET_ON in TextObjectBar::Execute (/sd/source/ui/view/drtxtob1.cxx)

There are keymappings according to me are at framework/source/accelerators/keymappings.cxx

I am not able connect where should I define a initialized(i.e. F12 and SHIFT-F12) key-mapping for bullets list. Any code pointer here?

Coming back to this topic it seems to work now. At least shift+f12 toggles the unordered list aka bullet on/off (f12 is occupied by my OS). Can you confirm that this issue is resolved?
