I'm about to create a new database and created a 'history bib.odb' file. I'm about to generate Tables by clicking the Tables icon in the menu column 'Database' at the left of the file window. However, an error dialog box pops up that read

"The connection to the data source 'history bib' could not be established. No Java installation could be found. Please check your installation."

However, I had installed JRE from

  http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html

Installation was successful, and the version check was also done successfully. 'Java Scrip' is also enabled in Safari Preferences/Security.

What should be the problem? Anything I did wrong?

My systems is New iMac with macOS Sierra.

Your help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Seems this is a JRE-problem with Mac.
See https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103259

So far I know: MacOSX and LibreOffice are only working with the complete JDK.

Load the JDK, should be fine then.
