Description Michael 2017-03-08 22:53:35 UTC
Description:
When several of my documents are getting bigger, with several graphics included (insert -> picture; copy and paste, from several sources like other LibO files, PDF, ...), nearly always, but not reproducible when, sooner or later some of the images are getting dropped off / erased / deleted by Writer. No notice, no info, nothing. They are just gone. Usually I recognize when looking at the file in print preview. Sometimes, for a short period, an empty frame is shown instead, with some sort of "broken file/link" symbol and the text "read error". This "frame" disappears automatically after some seconds.

Really ugly is, that this seems to happen even on opening, so no chance to close without saving.

Good luck I'm well organized regarding backups ;-)

Steps to Reproduce:
no way known right now

Actual Results:
pictures in frames are lost

Expected Results:
pictures in frames should stay untouched

Reproducible: Sometimes

User Profile Reset: No

Hi Xisco,

of course I would like to test with the latest LibreOffice release.
But as I'm using the release which is "shipped" with my OpenSuse distribution, I'm not sure:

The LibreOffice website offers only rpms and debs for Linux. Is it possible to get a unpackaged version of LibreOffice somehow? To be put into an own directory and start/test from there? Without affecting the "official" packaged release also installed?

Must I take the "source and compilation" way for this?

Regards,
Michael
