Description Voicu Hodrea 2017-03-09 07:35:04 UTC
Description:
I see some shortcuts are disabled in the "customize" options pane, including the CTRL+SHIFT+[0..9].

Are these shortcuts used somewhere else? I tried finding information about this but I couldn't and I couldn't find what they do if they are shortcuts for something.

If not, why are they disabled (i.e. can't add an action for them)?

In any case, there should be some information about why they can't be used and how I can make them usable if there is a way to do that.

Thanks,

Voicu

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to Tools menu -> Customize
2. Choose Keyboard tab
3. Click in the first list
4. Press CTRL+SHIFT+7
5. The shortcut is disabled - I cannot click on "modify" to assign an action to it.

Actual Results:
Shortcut disabled, can't assign action to it.

Expected Results:
 * Shortcut should be enabled OR
 * information about why it's disabled should be displayed

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No - I haven't touched LibreOffice at all until now

Additional Info:
I'm on Kubuntu 16.10 using the up to date LibreOffice.

This is shown in the about dialog:

I'm using LibreOffice on Windows and can use the Ctrl+Shift+[0..9] shortcuts. Therefore please look, whether these shortcuts are occupied by Ubuntu.

Can you customize another shortcut and only these are disabled?

In which module do you try to customize the keyboard?

Hello,

I've tried with Libre writer at first but it seems to be the same for all the other applications.

As far as I can tell kubuntu is not holding these shortcuts - I can't find them in any of the settings and nothing happens when I press them.

There are other shortcuts that are disabled. These are all the disabled shortcuts:
 F1, F6, F10,
 Shift+F1, Shift+F2, Shift+F6,
 Ctrl+F1, Ctrl+F4, Ctrl+F6,
 Ctrl+Shift+[0-9],
 Ctrl+Shift+F6,
 Alt+F4,
 Ctrl+Alt+F4

Note that none of those seem to do anything or be connected with anything set in my environment. The only exception is F1 which opens up the help page in a browser.
Comment 3 Regina Henschel 2017-03-09 14:12:01 UTC
Combinations with F6 and F10 are reserved for accessibility features, combinations with F1 for several help options. Read the toic "General Shortcut Keys" in the help.

Have you already tried to define another shortcut besides the Ctrl+Shift+[0-9]? Please try it. It is necessary to know, whether the problem is only with these combinations or whether there is a general problem with setting shortcuts in your environment.

I succesfully mapped and remapped other shortcuts, yes.

I wanted to use ctrl+shift+7 and ctrl+shift+8 for numbering on/off and bullets on/off. I wanted that because I got used to them from google docs.

Since I couldn't use those key combinations I left them as shift+f12 and modified ctrl+shift+f12.

I will post a screenshot of how the customize keyboard window looks like, maybe it'll help.

I have the same situation with Ubuntu + Unity and Arch Linux + KDE.

This is already in 3.3

Voicu: Maybe you could ask on http://ask.libreoffice.org/ I don't want to accept this as a bug without investigation. My web search did not help.

Setting to NEEDINFO for now.

You have the same situation meaning you can or can't modify the shortcuts?

I'll try http://ask.libreoffice.org/ and report back.
