Description POSAM-Ron 2017-03-24 14:33:24 UTC
* Citing > Bug 101987 - Spellcheck dialog freezes for several seconds for every action chosen during Spelling Dialogue < , I am augmenting that report because it was reported on "2016-09-08 08:55 UTC by MICHAEL TUCK" and it looks like it has-not been fixed/resolved yet *

* The annoyance in Calc Version: 5.2.3.3 appears on my Win XP SP3 system * When you execute a SPELLCHECK on a rather small spreadsheet , the Calc program enters a "not responding" condition along with the main menu program/process "SOFFICE.BIN" * This condition continues for about 15 seconds and then releases * The unusual wait and inoperability appears to be a lock-up to the operator * I have personally ended the tasks before realizing that the condition is temporary * It appears that the program is executing a loop that takes an inordinate amount of time * My dual processor becomes about 80% busy from 0% during this lock-up time *

* Can you please diagnose this (likely) unintended busyness and streamline the SPELLCHECK option *

Thank you

POSAM-Ron

Thanks Xisco Faulí

* It appears that this annoyance has been resolved in Version: 5.3.1.2 * The spell checker is still a bit slow but the major cause of the problem has been fixed *
