Description Philipp 2017-04-06 13:16:52 UTC
Hello everybody,

There is this proprietary app called "sketch".

https://www.sketchapp.com/

It's used by most designers and they offered a closed source file format so far. sketch was only available for osx and I as linux user in the world of web development had no way to use this format from our designers.

Now they changed it to be an open file format.

https://medium.com/sketch-app-sources/sketch-43-is-coming-to-town-with-a-new-game-an-open-file-format-ae62e7e7c223

I guess it's not out yet but will be in few months. In my eyes an absolute killer feature would be supporting this new file format so that web developers under linux could easier interact with their designers ;)

I could help out with example sketch files containing real designs and testing.

Kind Regards,
Philipp

They don't even support it on Win or Linux: https://www.sketchapp.com/support/requirements/other-platforms
So I don't understand why should LibreOffice should.
Anyway, lets close it as RESOLVED WONTFIX for the moment and we can always reopen it if anybody intends to work on it

Btw, "text-based" does not mean "open". It just makes the format easier to reverse-engineer.
