Repeated this a couple of times : Moving or copying a sheet that contains a comment from one document to another. The comment is attached to a cell, say H6, contains a short text and is made visible. In the destination document, the original comment is there but it is also duplicated in the top left (A1) cell and I have not been able to delete it Contents of the Comment can be selected and erased but no way to get rid of the Comment box. Can't open a contextual menu to make it not visible, or erase it. Let's call it a buglet. Actually the only way to get rid of the duplicate Comment is to delete the sheet. The workaround would be to first save the text of the comment in a cell, erase the comment, copy or move the sheet to the destination document, then recreate the comment.

I can not confirm with Version: 5.5.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 6533c30f7f8b62671fef9e636c49b11127812ed1 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2; TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@70-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2017-05-26_02:35:54 steps: new file insert coment with text "aaa" show comment copy sheet to new file

@Robert : please update to the latest production release and try again.
Please also indicate which version of macOS you are using.

I downloaded LibreOffice 5.3.3.2 (Build ID: 3d9a8b4b4e538a85e0782bd6c2d430bafe583448) - same behaviour. (In reply to Buovjaga from comment #7) > (In reply to Robert Monnier from comment #6) > > (In reply to Alex Thurgood from comment #5) > > > Please also indicate which version of macOS you are using. > > > > Version of Mac OS is 10.11.1 > > Did you try with LibreOffice 5.3.3? I downloaded version 5.3.3.2 and repeated the steps with the same results using the original file. (Build ID: 3d9a8b4b4e538a85e0782bd6c2d430bafe583448) A few more trials : Trial A A1. Created a new spreadsheet document, single sheet. A2. Entered a comment in cell B4. Made comment visible (Show comment) A3. Document is NOT SAVED. A4. Control-click on sheet tab - Move or Copy sheet ... A5. (Copy by default, as it's a single sheet ?) A6. - new document - A7. Comment is NOT duplicated. Same steps but saved the document, closed and reopened : comment duplicated Trial B B1. Created a new spreadsheet document, single sheet. B2. Entered a comment in cell B4. Made comment visible (Show comment) B3. Saved the spreadsheet document, closed the document, reopened the document. B4. Control-click on sheet tab - Move or Copy sheet ... B5. (Copy by default, as it's a single sheet ?) B6. - new document - B7. COMMENT IS DUPLICATED. Both comments are stacked, but it is visible that there are 2 arrows (it seems to point to 2 different cells, B3 and A1). Click selecting and moving the top comment moves the DUPLICATE comment. Arrow of original comment points to red dot at top right corner of cell B4. Arrow of DUPLICATED comment points to top left corner of cell A1. If DUPLICATE comment selected, a green dot appears to top left of cell A1, Ctrl Click opens menu, but no possibility to erase DUPLICATE comment. So it seems this happens from a file that has been saved, and reopened. I don't know if this is helpful. It it can be useful that I do more trials, let me know. Again, if comment is not MADE VISIBLE before saving, it is not duplicated. If repeating the steps of Trial B but not making comment visible, the comment is not duplicated. RM

Dear Robert Monnier, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! Warm Regards, QA Team MassPing-UntouchedBug
