html file with incorporated image generated with lo 4.3.3.2

In libreoffice 4, when incorporating an image in an html file, lo used to put raw image data directly in the html file. This file worked when it was selected as an email signature file in thunderbird, the image was properly displayed.

It seems that libreoffice 5 acts differently when incorporating images : it generates an image file in the same directory as the html file, and refers to its name in that file instead of putting raw data like before. That way of incorporating images does not work with thunderbird : the image is not displayed in the signature.

Attached are two files with incorporated image, one generated with lo 4.3.3.2 and one with lo 5.2.7.2

When I do File - Export, XHTML, I get the base64 encoded image.
It is only with Save as .. HTML that you get the separate image! This has been like so since ages. I tested with 3.6.7.2 and it was the same.

Closing.
