Considering that blank spaces are not allowed in a bookmark name, I doubt that anyone would dislike having blank spaces automatically replaced or removed, preferably replaced with underscores so as to make bookmark names legible and intelligible.

It seems then that I was under the wrong impression that they are not allowed, probably based on the fact that blank spaces are not allowed for table names.
