Perhaps it depends on the icon style. You can change it with Tools => Options => LibreOffice => View => User Interface. I use Tango (see attachment). Does it solve your problem? Set to NEEDINFO

Thanks, Dieter. Yes, Tango is already a lot better. Who is the maintainer of the "Sifr" icon theme shown in the screenshot above? This is the icon theme that the user sees by default on Solus Budgie Linux.
This has already been fixed in master and assume its also in 5.4.
