Description Óvári 2017-08-16 01:57:32 UTC
Description:
1. Open or create a LibreOffice Base Database
2. Menu Bar → Insert → Form…
3. Show last item of Insert menu “Form Control >” at:
Form Menu Bar → Insert → Form Control >

Likewise for:
1. Open or create a LibreOffice Base Database
2. Menu Bar → Insert → Report…
4. Show last item of Insert menu “Form Control >” at:
Form Menu Bar → Insert → Form Control >

This would provide consistency across LibreOffice as Writer, Calc, Impress have “Form Control >” as the last item in the Insert menu list.

Thank you

Actual Results:
"Form Control >" not shown as last item in Insert menu

Expected Results:
"Form Control >" shown as last item in Insert menu

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Have problems to understand the bug-description.
1. Open a *.odb-file
2. Menu Bar → Insert
... there I could read
Form
Report
...

There is no item
"Form Control >"
because there is no possibility to create a form control without a form.

If you open a form for editing, not input data, the toolbar "form-controls" should be shown automatically. Do you want to get form-control in an opened form through
Insert → Form Control → ...
?

Thank you Robert for looking into this bug report.

Continuing from where you got stuck, click on Form...
then the Database Form window opens.
Then in the Database Form window, select: Menu Bar → Insert
There is no "Form Control >" as the last item like the rest of the LibreOffice suite. The bug report it to recommend adding it.

Attached is a mockup with "Form Control >"

Did you need any more information before you change the status of this bug report to NEW?

Thank you once again.

@Óvári :

I can confirm that the Insert menu doesn't contain a Forms entry and submenu, even in Form Design mode, adding forms to an existing form document is reliant on the form edit toolbar and associated control toolbar.

Tested against

The menu does appear in Writer (inactive by default), Calc (active by default), Impress (inactive by default), and Reports (inactive by default), yet not at all in Forms, so there is IMO quite clearly some UI inconsistency here.

Ideally it shouldn't go into the Insert menu, as it is a major feature of window/app, and instead it should have its own main menu bar item called 'Form'.
