Can I ask why?

Both applications will help users to get rid of MS Office installations on their desktops by simply copy-pasting them. Isn't its the goal

There are already several capable open source email applications, such as Thunderbird. LibreOffice has its hands full with the existing project and adding an email application would cause untenable spreading of resources.
