Description Goran Janković 2017-10-18 09:15:45 UTC
Description:
When I select a column and cut it, memory usage increases steadily until the pc becomes unusable, while showing 100% utilization of the memory and the swap partition.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open a spreadsheet
2. select a column by clicking on its top
3. ctrl + x or edit -> cut

Actual Results:
Memory and swap usage increases in a very fast pace until the system becomes unusable due to 100% memory and hard drive utilization

Expected Results:
I should be able to cut the column data and paste it somewhere else

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I guess that what is being done is iterating through all the cells of the column, even if they're empty of data, possibly creating their copies

The bug only applies to columns, not rows.
I can reproduce it with any of the three attached document formats.
I can also reproduce it on an empty, newly created document.

The process that takes up the memory is "soffice.bin".

Started in safe mode, still reproducible in

Version: 5.3.6.1
Build ID: 5.3.6-2
CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Linux 4.11; UI Render: default; VCL: gtk3; Layout Engine: new;
Locale: en-US (en_US.utf8); Calc: group

It also says that "this version is supplied by Arch Linux". I will try downloading the package from LibreOffice website and testing it then.
