Description Cor Nouws 2017-10-18 20:37:20 UTC
as per subject.

Notably, e.g. when entering a name for tables in Writer, one cannot type a space: hitting the space bar is filtered out.

Thanks Mario!
I mean the Name Box in the Formula Bar.

Hitting Enter does not fail silently for me: You must enter a valid reference or type a valid name for the selected range.

But let's set to NEW in any case.

There is no way to reproduce the described behavior. You can attempt to introduce a name with spaces directly in the Name Box, but as soon as you press [ENTER], a warning pops up, blocking the name.

IMHO, in the way this is presented, it should be closed as invalid; no repro, no bug, no incorrect behavior, no problem, nothing.

For completeness: also note that the Name Box can be used to select existing named ranges and for sheet-local scope names they are displayed like
Rangename (Sheet1)
which can be typed in / auto-completed and selected upon Enter.
