Description Dave 2017-11-01 23:24:28 UTC
Description:
Latest build 5.4.2.2 GB installs beautifully. The corresponding help file seems to install (programs and features) but is not available through the help function in the LibreOffice program itself. Could it be a 32/64 mismatch?
OS: Win 10-64, 1709 running on an i7 5th generation.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install 5.4.2.2 over 5.2x
2. install help file
3. try to use it from Writer

Actual Results:
error message saying program is not installed; click the message off and Writer still works

Expected Results:
I'd have expected the locally installed help file to work

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Please post the complete, exact file name of the installed LibreOffice and of the used language pack. ( I mean the files with the .msi file name extension.)
Comment 2 Dave 2017-11-02 14:27:03 UTC
LibreOffice installation file: LibreOffice_5.4.2_Win_x64

Help file: LibreOffice_5.4.2_Win_x64_helppack_en-GB

both files downloaded from: http://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/

Hope this helps

The files seem to be correct. So check the installation and configuration.
1. Check the place of the help files: Goto the installation folder and verify, that there is a subfolder "help" on the same level as "share" and "program". The subfolder with your language should be inside "help".
2. Check the UI language: Goto menu Tools > Options > Language Settings > Languages. In section "Language Of" the drop-down "User interface:" should show the item "English (UK)". The UI must correspond to the help. If you have UI "English (USA)" you cannot use a "en-GB" help. It might be, that you have not installed the "English (UK)" UI. You can add it via Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. Right-click LibreOffice > Change.

Please check and report back.

Hello Regina,

Thanks for the superfast reply, and the detailed description of what to try out.

It seems that from the website the default download English-language for the program itself is for En-US, though the help file is set for GB. I reset the UI language to English UK and everything is working well.

Thanks once again for your prompt and competent help.

All the best,
Dave
