Description Bret R 2017-11-02 00:57:20 UTC
Description:
When opening a saved file with a list box (or creating a new one from a template), the Data/Linked Cell field is blank instead of maintaining the cell reference previously entered.

Works as expected in 5.3.3.2, doesn't work in 5.4.2.2.

I noticed a patch related to the listbox control was posted in response to bug 79250 and made live as of 5.4.0. Could this possibly be linked?

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create blank Calc spreadsheet
2. Create Form Control with a list of entries
3. Add a reference in "Linked cell" under Properties:List Box, Data tab
4. Turn off Design Mode and verify that the created Listbox works
5. Save file & close
6. Open file

Actual Results:
The "Linked cell" field in the Form Control properties Data tab is blank, and the Listbox does not function.

Expected Results:
The "Linked cell" field in the Form Control properties Data tab should retain its earlier value, and the Listbox should function.

Reproducible: Always

I can confirm the problem.

5.3.4 / 5.3.6 / 5.3.7 no problem

5.4.3 Linked Cell is empty after opening files
Comment 3 IT 2017-11-10 11:01:59 UTC
The problem is much bigger.

When you save a file with 5.4.x the Linked Cell Value get deleted.

1. Create a Listbox with Linked Cell with Version 5.3 and save.
2. Open file with 5.4 and save
3. Open file again with 5.3 and you can see Linked Cell Value is empty.

There is more to this issue.
If you type in your list entries instead of using cell range, that information will also get lost when reopening the file.
Not only the List box control is affected but the Combo box as well.

The ListBox in the attached example works as expected for me when the file is opened with Dev V6.0.0.0 Beta1 X64 under Win 10.

It's the same for Check Boxes I reported a bug about which was meanwhile marked as a duplicate of this bug.
Comment 8 m_a_riosv 2017-11-30 01:57:58 UTC
Checked, as @Wolfgang comment works fine with test file.
Version: 6.0.0.0.beta1 (x64)
Build ID: 97471ab4eb4db4c487195658631696bb3238656c
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default;
Locale: es-ES (es_ES); Calc: group threaded

I can't find what patch has solved the issue, to ask have it on 5.4
