Description: Using Writer and working between my document and the Fields panel (CTRL+F2), Type='Headings'. No filter selection. I am inserting cross references within my document. If the last field insert was, for example, 4.6.3 and I then go to my document and do some more editing. I then want to insert another Heading cross reference. I mouse over the Fields panel Selection and use my mouse wheel to scroll up a few pages on the Selection. I then choose a new Heading, say 1.1. The Selection reverts back to the previous selection window and chooses the equivalent place on that window. Steps to Reproduce: 1.If the last field insert was, for example, 4.6.3 and I then go to my document and do some more editing. 2.I then want to insert another Heading cross reference. I mouse over the Fields panel Selection and use my mouse wheel to scroll up a few pages on the Selection. I then choose a new Heading, say 1.1. Actual Results: The Selection reverts back to the previous selection window and chooses the equivalent place on that window. In your step 3 don't close the dialog. I don't close the insert dialog between edits and moving around my document.
(In reply to Robert Wright from comment #4) > In your step 3 don't close the dialog. > > I don't close the insert dialog between edits and moving around my document. Ok, I tried like you said, but still no problem noticed. I also tried with 5.4: Arch Linux 64-bit, KDE Plasma 5 Version: 5.4.2.2.0+ Build ID: 5.4.2-2 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.13; UI render: default; VCL: kde4; Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI.UTF-8); Calc: group
Interesting! It's very specific by the looks of it. 1. Open the document 2. Open the insert fields menu but don't click on any part of the insert fields menu 3. Select the document and go to page 53 4. Don't select the Fields pop-up 5. Mouse over the insert fields menu and use the mouse scroll bar to move the Selection field to say Chapter 4 6. Select Chapter 4 in the Selection field 7. I get 1.2.1 selected
