Highlighting does not work

I have a textbox with some text highlighted. There is no problem in editing mode, but when I am in diaporama mode the text is not highlighted.

I've tested the same file under Windows: there was no bug
I had first the bug with LibreOffice 5.1 (from Linux Mint 18.2 repository), then I installed LO 5.3, but the bug is still there.

Tested in safe-mode: bug still there

Chipset: VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2520M CPU @ 2.50GHz

It's a known, longstanding issue; sadly.
