Is this "PDF to file" depending on system configuration or on LibreOffice component?
Comment 3 Xisco Faulí 2018-11-27 13:36:49 UTC
I can't reproduce it in

Version: 6.2.0.0.beta1+
Build ID: a63cd8bbe7cf881daa8dc7a7f32f3e5ac384e902
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: ca-ES (ca_ES.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ?
I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.

demonstration of problem

Since I can reproduce this bug with both Ubuntu versions I am using (16.04 & 18.04), I recorded 38 seconds video to demonstrate the issue, I hope it could help in identifying the problem.

A Debian user on IRC has this same problem. Unfortunately I have been unable to get more data from him (version, vcl etc.), but let's confirm.

I guess profile corruption can be ruled out because Ljiljan is seeing this in Ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04.

mst did a little tweak that looks like it *might* help: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/plugins/gitiles/core/+/c8dd1c22d7512d4922461350c6cb804cd0864e0b%5E%21/
vcl: unx: apply configuration to "Generic Printer" so it's PDF ...

... by default, instead of leaving it with
m_nPSLevel == 0 && m_nPDFDevice == 0.

Unfortunately there are no current Linux master builds for you to test with.

By now, this is included in current LibreOffice versions.

@Ljiljan: Does the problem still occur with LibreOffice 6.3?
Comment 8 Ljiljan 2019-11-09 08:17:31 UTC
I tested the option "Print to file" in LibreOffice 6.3, Ubuntu 19.10 and it works. I don't need to change the output format every single time, PDF is automatically produced.

Thanks for the fix!
