Do you see the problem in a daily build AppImage http://libreoffice.soluzioniopen.com/ ?
Comment 3 MiroJanosik 2017-12-28 12:51:08 UTC
Yes, I reproduced the same bug. I have tested on LibreOfficeDev-daily-x86_64.AppImage from http://libreoffice.soluzioniopen.com/index.php/daily-version/ today.

I have to put this to Needinfo because we cannot know what's the issue "remotely". Only you can test and find the cause.
Did you try print to PDF?
Did you search here for network printer issues?
Will you upgrade to 18.04?
Comment 5 Timur 2018-04-04 17:45:08 UTC
Also, how is printer connected? Which printer is that, is driver updated?
Comment 6 Timur 2018-04-04 17:46:03 UTC
Did you try to reinstall printer after the upgrade?
Comment 7 MiroJanosik 2018-04-05 06:24:48 UTC
Hi Timur

I think that most of your questions are answered above, but here goes again:
>> Did you try print to PDF?
Yes, it works well, I was printing libreOffce PDF outputs from PDF viewer application. Also printing from different programs works.

>> Did you search here for network printer issues?
Yes, I have found this one https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53029 and I don't know if it is related.

>> Will you upgrade to 18.04?
Yes I will, but is that somehow relevant, as it is not released?

>> Also, how is printer connected? Which printer is that, is driver updated?
My printer is a remote printer (attached to a different PC in a network). It is attached to a Windows PC. It is listed in my list of printers. It works for printing from different programs. Driver is updated in a way that my whole system is up-to-date, updated weekly. I will post printer model in evening.

>> Did you try to reinstall printer after the upgrade?
No I did not, as printing from other programs works well

Maybe you can advice me where to find some logs that will show what is going on?

Re: logs: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems

See "CUPS error_log". The location of the log is mentioned in 8.
Comment 9 MiroJanosik 2018-04-05 20:07:22 UTC
Printer model: HP LaserJet P2055dn
Linux shows printer driver as: HP LaserJet p2055dn pcl3

Tested again with latest updates to my system (Ubuntu 17.10)

Printing from Writer - fails.
less /var/log/cups/error_log shows:
E [05/Apr/2018:21:57:11 +0200] [Job 143] Session setup failed: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
E [05/Apr/2018:21:57:11 +0200] [Job 143] Session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
E [05/Apr/2018:21:57:11 +0200] [Job 143] Tree connect failed (NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED)
/

Printing from Leafpad text editor works.

And I found a workaround inside bug https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53029 workaround here: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53029#c13 (Under heading "Print dialogs", Uncheck "Use LibreOffice Dialogs")

Right, so it's an authentication problem! Cool that you found it out. Closing as dupe.
