Description Wolf 2018-01-05 16:26:43 UTC
Description:
I created a formula file, containing

"4 x {Einlage x Umsatzerlös der Gesellschaft} over {10.000.000}"

Used "insert - object - ole" and created the object from the file. Now the lower part of the formular (figure "10.000.000") is not visible. It was initially, but varnished after the first scrolling.

Steps to Reproduce:

I found that I can edit the formula CONTOUR and make it visible. It seems to be drawn very narrow - mabe giving it slightly more allowance can fix the problem?

no repro with Version: 6.1.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 88f6ffeb9e0c0b942c2b0bc9d60af7bb7a6caaf8
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;

Seems to be fixed with dev version. Please could you test it with dev version? You can download it here:

Ok.
I tried this version:

Version: 6.0.0.1
Build-ID: d2bec56d7865f05a1003dc88449f2b0fdd85309a
CPU-Threads: 2; BS: Linux 4.10; UI-Render: Standard; VCL: gtk2;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); Calc: group

The problem is resolved in my real work document. But then I tried with a new file from scratch - and the situation is not better:

* with the OLE object created first, I get a "symbol only" display (see attached screen1). Closing the document, reopening it will resolve that problem.

* but then I get an even worse display of the formula (see screen2)

Works for me by doing from scratch, tried also with gtk2 backend.

Maybe it's some problem with Ubuntu.

Hm. Or it's one of these nasty "occurs occasionally, you never know"...

I'm quite having some trouble with formulas. Perfectly reproduceable in ubuntu 17.10 and debian 9.1 is this one:

* create a new file
* insert OLE object
* first see only an icon (see screen)
* after close and reopen you'll be fine.

See screeen3

Problem still exists in 6.0.7.3-ubuntu.
Still OLE with formulas is not really useable.

Attempt to insert a formula with OLE.
Comment 14 Timur 2018-12-19 14:11:46 UTC
I also didn't reproduce in Linux Mint with LO 5.4 and master 6.3+.
Not written, but I guessed insert is in Writer.
Since 3 of us didn't reproduce, it's up to reporter to find a cause and specifics why that happens. Is it some local issue or graphic card or OpenGL.

Please try with profile reset and test master:

Comment 15 Timur 2019-06-17 09:01:38 UTC
Since no response, I don't see other option than to close as InsufficientData.
If the reporter comes with reproducible steps, this may be set back to Unconfirmed.
