Thank you for reporting the bug. To be certain the reported issue is not
related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your
Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and
re-test?

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present

My icons in tools bars also look wrong, but different than other attachment here.

My icon color is off: Red, yellow and blue shows, but only primary red, yellow and blue.

(Not seeing this issue in LO from downloads, either 5.4.3.2 or 6.0.0.0beta2.)

Am seeing issue in fresh LO build (my first ever last night, so give this a grain of salt, as I'm very new to building LO.)

Note: I noticed 6.1.0.0.alpha0+ now uses gtk3 (rather than gtk2 that was in the other version which I don't have this issue with.)

@Xisco, The last time I was asked to reset my LibreOffice user profile I recall that I had trouble recovering.

(This was also partly because I have some customization that are somewhat difficult to re-install and setup, which if they get messed up now might cause an extended system interruption for my databases. I'm trying to avoid that.)

So, while https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile says:

  a) to back it up, and
  b) how to start to reset it,

it does not (yet) say :

  c) HOW to back up the LibreOffice user profile, nor does it say
  d) HOW to restore from one's backups later.

So before I perform this reset I have some important questions for you or someone there:

1) First, when you say "reset your user LibreOffice profile" do you mean "Reset to factory settings", (as there are 3 reset choices shown in the Safe Mode dialog window)?

2) Next, how is the best way to properly back it up and restore this profile directly. Do I just copy the tree and then restore the tree? (This may seem like an obvious thing to you, but given the gravity of it, I'm checking with you to make absolutely certain that I get this right.)

I'm assuming that LO should not be running when either of the next two steps are performed:

  i) In linux does this fully back it up (assuming default location)?

      cd ~/.config/libreoffice
      cp -a 4 4~

ii) Then after testing here can I fully restore it from my backup with this?

      cd ~/.config/libreoffice
      rm -r 4
      mv 4~ 4

I hope that this info can later be added to:
  https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile I think.

Thanks for the help! Sorry, for the dumb question, but experience has taught me to check first when doing things that are dangerous. :-)

re,

"Dear Bug Submitter,

This bug has been in NEEDINFO status with no change for at least
6 months. Please provide the requested information as soon as
possible and mark the bug as UNCONFIRMED. Due to regular bug
tracker maintenance, if the bug is still in NEEDINFO status with
no change in 30 days the QA team will close the bug as INSUFFICIENTDATA
due to lack of needed information. ..."

From what I can see there are bugs that can take many, many years to characterize and finally fix.

I for one am trying to learn enough about C++ to try and fix some of these myself, but it's a slow rocky road getting up to speed.

For now I'd say lighten up a little.

I think you should just let these bugs hang there for years until someone has time to resolve them.

But that's just my 2c. I don't really know all what everyone is dealing with here.

Do you use a display with more than 125% in your Windows settings? [Windows 10 defaults to 150% for HiDPI monitors.]
Comment 10 Howard Johnson 2018-11-06 00:37:27 UTC
Regina, I can't speak for Jay, but I observed the messed up icons on Linux. For what it's worth: I have two screens: a) 17" laptop 1600x900 and b) 24" hdmi 1920x1080.
Comment 11 Regina Henschel 2018-11-06 02:19:40 UTC
The kind of error, which I see in the attachment by Jay belongs to HiDPI problems. The meta bug for it is bug 90796. I want to be sure, that it is such problem, therefore ask for the scaling.

Linux might have different problems. Please examine the existing bugs, e.g. those listed in the bug 90796. I'm quite sure that your problem is already reported. This issue is about Windows.
Comment 12 Jay 2018-11-07 04:05:58 UTC
I just reset my profile, and then everything came back fine. However, I have in the months since I reported this bug, reinstalled all of LibreOffice. I can't remember if I would've wiped the profile too. Will let you know if bug reoccurs.
Comment 13 Xisco Faulí 2018-11-07 09:41:50 UTC
Thanks for retesting with a clean profile
Let's close this as RESOLVED WORKSFORME for the time being...
