Description Janos 2018-02-08 15:06:29 UTC
Description:
LibreOffice 5.1.6.2 runnung on HP-15-bs062st, Ubuntu 16.04 with java-8-openjdk-i386/jre. Any attempt to connect to mysql server (entering password, or just testing connection, testing Java class) will crash Base. File recovery always succeeds. The funny thing is that when booting same machine from a different hard disk (salvaged from a failed Acer 64bit AMD laptop) everything works, even on the HP hardware. The only difference is the jre: on the Acer it is java-8-openjdk-amd64/jre.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open a Form or Table
2.Enter password in dialogue box
3.

Actual Results:
crash

Expected Results:
mysql connection established and the opened Form or Table appears

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
see Description above. This is a new installation on a new hardware because previous hardware failed. Previous installation boot on the new hardware works flawlessly. Apparently the problem is with the jre. When I tried to use the old jre LibreOffice would not accept it. It only takes the i386 version on the new installation. Apparently it is kernel-jre interaction related. Does the i386 version of jre work on 7th Generation Intel® Core™ i3?

False alarm, sorry. I have completely reinstalled Ubuntu 16.04 using the ...amd64.iso DVD and now everything works fine. Coped back my /val/lib/mysql database and the system is completely restored. I was confused by the "amd" labeling of the ISO install DVD since the hp laptop has Intel CPU, not amd.
Thanks, anyway for your attention, and thanks for the great software.
