Description:
MacOS latest High Sierra version; LibreOffice 5.4.1.2; updates turned off but Mac is incredibly slowed down by continuous LibreOffice loading of new versions.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. turn off updates in prefs
2.wait a day or two; then every day it will take up computer time downloading
3.

Actual Results:  
the update disk shows on the desktop

Expected Results:
no update disk download


Reproducible: Always


User Profile Reset: No

no updates till requested manually

@Chris :

- In LO6011, I see 2 tick boxes :

- check automatically for updates (and a choice of frequency)

- download automatically the updates (to a given folder).

Both of these are unticked on my system, and I don't get constant downloads or slowdowns due to update verification.

No repro for me with:

@Chris : please provide detailed step-by-step instructions for reproducing this as per what I see in the Preferences under comment 1.
