Hi,

when editing a slide master, it comes, by default, with three footer areas, i.e. date/time, footer, and number. It's possible to delete these areas by selecting them and pressing the delete button. 

But then it is impossible to re-enable them. Even when you choose the Insert->Header and Footer  menu and reenable them, they are shown on the little preview slide in the header-and-footer-window, but do not re-appear in the master.

A completely new master must be hand-crafted from scratch.

You can use Insert - Field - (The field you want to insert)

These fields are not corresponding to the standard footer.

I.e. there is no <footer> field.
