Description: Autofilter function on a field with a lot of text in it not working. Dialog box appears, but I cannot type in the filter text box. It just shows blanks and mouse pointer changes to hourglass. Autofilter on a field where there isn't too much text works fine. It worked without problem before upgrade to this version. Spreadsheet has cca 13000 rows. I created sample spreadsheet with 1 field and lots of different values in it, which i am attaching and which is exhibiting this behavior. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open attached spreadsheet. 2.Click on the Autofilter arrow 3.Type anything in the text box that appears Actual Results: Blank spaces appear in the text box instead of typed letters. Mouse pointer changes to hourglass. Expected Results: I should see filtered results that I could use to narrow my filter. I am 90% sure, last working version was version 5.x, not 6.x.
I have tried version 5.x and the problem was still there. So perhaps I was wrong claiming that version 5.x didn't have the problem.
Removing 'possibleRegression' keyword for now. Add the keyword 'regression' if you can confirm it worked in a previous version of LibreOffice...
** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! tested with version 3.3 and the problem didn't occur. So i added the word regression to keyword, as instructed.
Created attachment 157329 [details] bt Windows (windbg) On Win10 with master sources updated today, I could reproduce this. I attached a bt after a Ctrl-C to be able to retrieve bt on WinDbg
(In reply to rimichl from comment #8) > tested with version 3.3 and the problem didn't occur. So i added the word > regression to keyword, as instructed. I'm not seeing a filter text box (search items) in 4.4.7.2 and older builds? Or i'm i missing something..
(In reply to Telesto from comment #10) > ... > I'm not seeing a filter text box (search items) in 4.4.7.2 and older builds? > Or i'm i missing something.. I had to enable full screen, it's at right of cell A1.
I reproduce the problem with 6.4.4, but not with a master build. Please re-test https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html
I have retested with the master built and it is fixed. Thanks!
