Are you sure you don't have Quickstarter running? I found this topic: https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=28963
To be sure before trying the install again, open Windows Task manager and kill any soffice processes.
I have no "soffice" processes or programs loaded/running. I did a complete uninstall, using Revo uninstaller to remove all files, directories, and registry entries. The same problem occurs when installing this version on the Windows 10 64-bit system. Unless anyone has other ideas, I guess that I'll have to wait for the next version update and try it again at that time. Or, maybe the 32-bit version will install.
Hmm, strange and unfortunate. You might also try a daily build: https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Win-x86_64@42/current/ It will install separately (will have its own user profile as well).
Thanks! Will daily builds update automatically, if so configured?

I tried using the 32-bit installer for Windows 10. Same problem. Install fails with no reason given. I was able to install the 64-bit version of the previous public build. I'll wait until another version of v6 is posted before I reattempt installing that one. Please change the status of this bug to whatever is appropriate for "I gave up". I see that type of Microsoft Installer failure when our IT folks are pushing updates, or some other program's update installer has left the Windows Installer service is in an unstable state. If a program install balks, I will just reboot to get a clean instance of the service for the msiexec.exe to run. Installer cache can be cleared manually, but the reboot is simpler. So, reboot and test your installation then--adjust status accordingly. I'm comfortable calling this NOT OUR BUG. p.s. (In reply to mathit1 from comment #6) > Thanks! Will daily builds update automatically, if so configured? No, each daily full .msi package must be installed, personally I recommend and prefer /a Administrative installations--and keep the Fresh release installed with its Windows Registry footprint. There is an experimental MAR based incremental on TB38 for Windows, and TB80 for Linux. Follow bug 54242 and bug 68274, the Windows builds there are not turning at the moment but Linux has been pretty reliable.
