Description Sandor 2018-03-04 13:54:08 UTC
Description:
New feature 1: I really would like to see an option for setting different page layout for individual sheets (tabs) in Calc, like one could be portrait and the other could be landscape, different margins, different printing page layout width - height, etc.

I am just wondering whether it would be useful to extend this functionality to page size too; and whether it would affect or cause any issue at printing the document or saving it to PDF and print it later.

New feature 2: Also when creating diagrams in Calc it would be nice to have an option to create diagram in a new tab automatically with its own page settings. I am pretty sure it is possible - even now - to do this with some workaround like simply dragging it to a separate tab; however, I think it would be nice to include this option in the dialog.

Why would it be useful:
Let's say someone creates a long portrait style list of figures on one tab like all date for a year (1 page wide but 10 pages long) and on the other one creates a year-report by months (Jan - Dec) which usually better in landscape style (1 page wide and 1 page long).

Printing-page-layout setting: I do use this setting a lot, however, due to having different style, length and width in tables, one overall setting results in unreadable small-print page while the other page is just fine. Usually I try to solve this by hiding not so relevant columns, however this is not always possible.

As for the diagram it would just be nice and neat in separate sheet sometimes; also it is quite hard and time consuming to reset its size manually to page-size grid-lines by pulling the edges - I mean using all valuable area of the page.
(This is actually true for simple tables in Calc, too; most of the time one line or column goes to separate page 'accidentally'. Usually I solve this by setting printing page layout to 1 sheet wide. Just maybe, sometimes this would help: highlight area - right click menu option - respectfully resize to 1 page keeping ratios of columns and lines.)

Overall summary: Calc is great but the printed pages not so great and not so readable all the time or simply takes too much effort to set it right.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.None
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Calc is great but the printed pages not so great and not so readable all the time or simply takes too much effort to set it right.

Expected Results:
Some page layout settings and formatting should be automatic.

Reproducible: Always

Feature 1: Define a new page style and assign it to the sheet => works for me

Feature 2: Request for charts on new sheet is in bug 60822, and for a total different kind of sheet only for charts in bug 108913. => duplicate.
