Description rcdorner 2018-04-21 19:04:04 UTC
Just downloaded (04/21/18 11:32 AM) version 6.0.3.2 64-bit.
Before it took about 20 seconds to open 1 page DOCX (!!!!)
now it won't open it all and crashes!
useless!
Might as well stay with decrepit Microsoft Office 2016.

Would it be possible you attach a document so we can give a try?
Of course, remove any confidential/private part from it since it'll be automatically made public.

Document That failed to open In Libreoffice attached.
It appears all DOCX documents do not open But crash LO After about 15 to 20 seconds.
Gonna downgrade to a previous version and see if the behaviors the same.

Do you get the crash when launching in Safe mode from the start menu or Help - Restart in safe mode and then Continue in safe mode?

Tried both enabled & disabled.

Safe mode appears to work. A DOCX takes about10 - 15 sec to open

Normal mode crashes. Takes about 20-25sec never opens but crashes.

Nope, in safemode it opens after about 10-15sec.

UPDATE:
After disabling OpenGL LO still crashed.
Updating the Intel Graphics 530 driver resolved the crash problem.
However, re-enabling OpenGL causes crash again.
Without enabled it works but document take ridiculously long to open, about 20 - 25sec for 1 page!

> Tried both enabled & disabled.

In comment 2 and comment 10, you mention two crash reports. They both happened with OpenGL enabled. Additionally, looking through first several dozens of reports at http://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/signature/GlyphCache::IsGlyphCached(int) also shows that each of them had OpenGL enabled (see Metadata tab, "UseOpenGL").

Could you please also send a crashreport address for a crash with OpenGL *disabled*?
Comment 13 Buovjaga 2018-04-24 06:15:09 UTC
Also, open the file C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\cache\opengl_device.log in a text editor and copy & paste the contents here to a comment.

debug WinDBG from dump with procdump - LO 6.1+

I also don't have crash, but I have dump: vcllo!FontAttributes::IncreaseQualityBy+23a

rcdorner, please respond to Buovjaga's request for opengl_device.log.
As for Mike's request for a crashreport with OpenGL disabled, I understand from comment 11 there are no crashes anymore, so I guess you can't do it.
Just to be sure about crashes, please also try both OpenGL and without with https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/. It's to be sure current dev version also shows bug. If you want to be thorough, better both Win-x86_64@42/ and Win-x86@42/. They will not mess with your working LO.

I'm asking you all this because we others don't reproduce crash. And you're the one who reported, although there may be others who have the same crash signature.
And please read https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport.
Comment 15 Miklos Vajna 2018-06-25 14:05:01 UTC
I tried to reproduce this with an Intel card on Windows with GL, no success. rcdorner, does this still happen for you?
Comment 16 rcdorner 2018-06-25 14:34:47 UTC

debug WinDBG from dump with procdump - LO 6.3+

Latest bug report is for LO 6.1.3. So we still may have this issue.
I'm able to reproduce dump in Windows with LO 6.3+ " heap_corruption".
Comment 22 Miklos Vajna 2019-04-11 09:47:25 UTC
I'm still not able to reproduce the crash with master (towards 6.3) as of today on Windows, with our without OpenGL enabled.
Comment 23 Telesto 2019-04-11 09:54:08 UTC
Probably resolved it self somewhere. Nearly gone in since 6.1 based on the summary tab at
http://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/signature/GlyphCache::IsGlyphCached(int)
Comment 24 Xisco Faulí 2019-04-11 09:56:21 UTC
I would say we close this as RESOLVED WORKSFORME...
Comment 25 Timur 2019-04-15 12:55:09 UTC
I also don't see dump with master 6.3+.
